Tip #2: Increase trust throughout your sales funnel.

Another way to increase your eCommerce sales is to improve the level of trust your visitors and customers have throughout your funnel. There is likely a similar path that customers take when shopping on your online store, that takes them from getting to your site (whether through a paid ad or directly entering your URL), to product details, to the checkout process. One simple way to increase trust on your product pages is to implement product reviews or existing customer testimonials. With nearly 80% of consumers checking product reviews before making a purchase, displaying genuine reviews of your products gives some level of “unbiased proof” as to the quality of your goods or services.

Tip #3: Increase your traffic and sales with giveaways or contests.

A great way to engage and grow your audience is to implement a contest or giveaway. You can maximize your efforts by allowing visitors an extra entry for sharing via their social media, or an extra entry for every person who registers via their unique link. The best part? A simple contest that is well executed can quickly grow your following and your business — and for a relatively low cost. Tip #4: Never underestimate the power of the upsell.

While, technically, upsells won’t really increase the number of your sales, they will increase the overall value of your average sale. To make an upsell, you simply take customers who are buying basic or standard products and then lead them to purchase an upgraded version of the item or additional products that can be added to create a customized bundle or package. While this may seem like a no-brainer, you’d be surprised at how often potential upsells are left off the table. A study by a Forrester research analyst suggests that product recommendations are responsible for anywhere from 10-30% of the revenue on commerce websites — hefty figures when you think of what that can add to your bottom line.
